Eugene's 2008 Summer Solstice Tournament is June 21-22!!

The Darkstar Alliance would like to draw your attention to a change in our co-ed division. We're not taking the high-level, traveling coed clubs this year, but hope to have them back in the future.

However, we're totally focused on bringing in Northwest-based, recreational-level coed teams that want to experience tournament play. These are teams from around Eugene and around the region who compete in local league play and/or the pick-up scene but may not have traveled to many tournaments or entered the UPA championship series.

The idea is to bring Ultimate players from around the state together for a fun, competitive, high-spirited tournament. The format is 4:3/3:4 (men:women/women:men), offense chooses, latest edition UPA rules (www.upa.org), and hopefully an easy-going format with lots of games and the finals at disc central. The standard tournament fee is $350 per team, but the rec-level teams get in for $250 each (you must also pay a fee of $10 per player, per UPA rules.)

Solstice is one of the longest-running tournaments in Ultimate, and it features top teams from the Northwest and beyond. And please forward this to your local disc community. The tournament fee pays for fields and field food, dinner on Saturday night, an awesome party with many, many, many kegs of beer, and so on.
